Barisal: located on the southern part of Bangladesh. Waterlogged by the rivers and hundreds of canal which is part of the Ganges Delta. Water and boats are the principle part of the life here. You will have a unique experience by meeting this typical community and the journey through the single Back water and the river bank lives.
Day 1: 16:30 hours: Meet and greet by our guide at the hotel lobby and transfer to Sadarghat central river vessel terminal and embark the passenger vessel for an overnight cruise. Be experienced with thousands of people embarking to different passengers ferry and how they are connected to the southern part of the country. Traditional dinner on board. Overnight cruise.
Day 2: Upon arrival at Barisal in the early morning, disembark the vessel and transfer to the hotel. After a quick freshen up, start drive to a remote place in Barisal by a local transport (01 hour). Upon arrival embark the awaiting motor country boat, and immediately the boat will start cruising toward the renowned floating market or other interesting place (depending on the day of the week). These floating markets start around 7.00 am and come to an end within 8.30 am. A locally arranged breakfast will be served on the boat. There is no descent restaurant is available as the place has located in a very remote area. You will cruise whole day in the rivers and small canals and visit the floating market (Depending on the day of the week) where they bring their local goods to sell in the boat which is completely occupied of activities and ideal for photography. These are mainly wholesale markets from farmers to vendors. We will get some snacks and seasonal local fruits from the local market for lunch. Resume cruise, also visit local bazaar on land and a village and tea with villagers, exchange culture with them, and visit a Coconut factory where they compose fiber from coconut to make carpet and rope. Return to our starting place in the late afternoon, transfer to Barisal by local transport. Dinner in a descent restaurant. Stay overnight at the respective hotel.
Day 3: After an early Breakfast transfer to a remote place by local transport (01 hour). Upon arrival embark the
awaiting motor country boat, and immediately the boat will start cruising. Today you will visit some other places
through the narrow canals and rivers, backyards of people's house and see their lifestyle while they give you
smile and welcome you from the land. Visit plentiful guava gardens where the country's 80% of guavas are
produced, see a floating guava market. Visit a primary school where you can talk with kids and teachers and
We will have some snacks and seasonal local fruits from the local market for lunch. Resume cruising to a timber market through narrow canals and rivers; the market is the largest of this type in the southern part of the country. Where they dumps logs beside the river spread in miles long; loading and unloading them manually with the help of tide. You will also visit several saw mills where they saw the logs according to the demand of the customers. Return to our starting place in the late afternoon, transfer to hotel by local transport and late checkout after freshen up. Dinner in a descent restaurant. Transfer to Barisal central river terminal for overnight cruise back to Dhaka.
